Product Specialist

Chicago, IL – RCP is looking to hire a dynamic and highly motivated Product Specialist to support the Managing Partner in the growth and servicing of Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), customized mandates and new product development. This position is ideal for a professional with strong private equity acumen, a consultative mindset, and the ability to think strategically about aligning client needs with investment opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Partner with Business Development team to identify and research high potential prospects for SMA relationships
  • Lead initial engagement and relationship-building with prospects, collaborating closely with the Managing Partner.
  • Guide prospects through the legal structuring process, coordinating with legal and tax teams as needed
  • Draft, refine and present compelling SMA proposals tailored to each client’s objectives for various mandates
  • Lead the content coordination on the RFI/RFP process in collaboration with marketing team
  • Assist in negotiating terms and ensure alignment of client and firm interests

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact for existing SMA clients, delivering responsive, strategic and solutions-oriented service. Includes leading update meetings, responding to requests and ensuring compliance of all accounts.
  • Proactively monitor client needs and SMA performance, escalating opportunities or issues as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain deep client knowledge to anticipate future needs and enhance relationship value.
  • Coordinate internally with investment, legal and tax teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

New Product Development

  • Research and develop new product offerings alongside the Managing Partner
  • Partner with legal and tax teams to effectively and efficiently structure new products
  • Coordinate with Business Development team to identify clients for new products

Requirements and Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in private equity, asset management, investment consulting or similar field
  • Strong knowledge of private markets and investment structures; familiarity with SMAs is preferred
  • Demonstrated success in a consultant, sales or business development role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a consultative approach to client service
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance client needs and the firm objectives
